About GATE
GATE is a national level examination that tests the comprehensive understanding of undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. It is conducted for admission to postgraduate programs (ME/M.Tech/MS) in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other prestigious institutions. GATE scores are also used by PSUs for recruitment.
Exam Pattern
General Aptitude
Verbal ability and numerical ability questions
Score: 15 marks (5 questions × 1 mark + 5 questions × 2 marks)
Subject-specific
Core engineering subject questions based on chosen discipline
Score: 85 marks (25 MCQs × 1 mark + 30 MSQs/NAT × 2 marks)
